Vacation Rentals in Bath

Vacation rentals (also called holiday cottages or self catering) are houses or apartments that you rent by the night or week. They are fully furnished and equipped, giving you a "home away from home". Read more - All About Vacation Rentals.

There are many wonderful vacation rental apartments in central Bath, in historic buildings. It is possible to stay in an apartment in The Circus or on the Royal Crescent, or in one of the many nearby Georgian buildings. We spent a week in an apartment just behind the Royal Crescent and loved being in such a beautiful historic building.

Things to note about Bath vacation rentals:

  • Watch out for stairs. Read descriptions carefully to see if there are stairs. Many of these historic buildings do not have elevators, so you may have to climb a few flights of stairs. (Remember that what we call the second floor in North America, the floor above ground level, is called the first floor in England and Europe.)
  • Parking is difficult in Bath. There are large public parking lots where you pay by the day. On street parking is mostly restricted to residents and unrestricted is hard to find. When we stay in Bath we either do not have a car, or pick it up near the end of our stay so we don't have to deal with parking. Some vacation rentals have parking or offer a parking sticker for restricted areas. If you rent your car from AutoEurope, you can pickup the car from National about two miles from the center of Bath. We usually get our rental car the day we are leaving Bath.
  • Groceries are easy to get. There are two supermarkets in central Bath - Waitrose in The Podium near the Pulteney Bridge and Sainsbury's at Green Park Station.
